Proudly Sponsored by City of Canada Bay Council
The Stitching Hearts patchwork group formed in 2005 with the intention of sewing quilts for distribution in the community to those we felt needed a little comfort. Over this period of time, hundreds of quilts have been made and distributed.
Among the recipients to date have been the following:
The residents of St Mary's Villa, Concord
Lucas Gardens Special School, Five Dock
Kathleen York House for substance abused young mothers & children
Grosvenor Disability Hospital, Summer Hill
Claffy House Women's Refuge, Burwood
FRANS Resource and Network Support Group
Lewishaw Nursing Home
St Anthony's Family Care, Croydon
Concord Meals on Wheels
Over the years we have made and donated many of our larger quilts to local groups and organisations for the purpose of raffles and auctions. We are pleased and satisfied to know that thousands of dollars have been raised for these groups to help continue their good work in the community.
Some of these groups are as follows:
Concord Senior Citizens, Bardwell Park Golf Club, Mortlake Public School, Cabarita-Concord Kindergarten, Community for Communities, Concord Occasional Child Care, St Patrick's Church, Mortlake, Oncology Department Westmead Hospital, Catholic Women's League, Returned and Services League of Australia Day Care Club, Concord Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Concord Community Hostel, Kathleen York House, Ronald McDonald House, Domestic Violence Support Services.
